I have a couple of projects I’d like to start working on, but this panel is my priority.
It reflects my life, currently…
Butterfly wings: change.
Accept that change is inevitable. We can choose either to accept change or resist it and suffer the consequences. Change provides us with many lessons and opportunities for growth. Even though we might be pushed out of our comfort zone and required to do something in a different way, this doesn’t mean that things will take a turn for the worse. The learning available to you as a result of change can improve your life. Have faith that things will turn out well…

Cubed lamp, made with some hand-rolled glass and glue chip bevels.
Comforting, and warm…
Beach House Lantern

The lantern I made for Karen, my boyfriend’s sister, who has a lovely holiday home in St. Francis Bay.
The meaning of a dragonfly changes with each culture. The main symbolisms of the dragonfly are renewal, positive force and the power of life in general. Dragonflies can also be a symbol of the sense of self that comes with maturity. Also, as a creature of the wind, the dragonfly frequently represents change. And as a dragonfly lives a short life, it knows it must live its life to the fullest with the short time it has – which is a lesson for all of us.
I made this lamp some time in 2009. I really adore it, and am not sure if I could ever part with it! Each panel is unique in design…

Sunflower Lamp

I made this lamp in December 2009 as a Christmas prezzie for my boyfriend’s mom, Joan, who resides in Port Elizabeth. Joan has a beautiful garden, and is particularly fond of sunflowers. (HI JOAN!
)
My little brother Nic loves skulls (for some odd reason).
For Christmas 2008 (erm… a delayed prezzie – my soldering iron blew up on Christmas morning…) I made him a skull, mounted on a mirror. It looks pretty funky in their home in Norwood.
Angels, hearts, and more angels…
The photos really don’t do much for the gorgeous glass I used (hand-rolled glass for the red and blue angel, water glass and glue chip)! These were all made for a Christmas market held in Craighall Park last year…

Simple ‘n’ sweet.
